- "Who were the Anglo-Saxons?" - An exploration of the identity of the early medieval people of lowland Britain and their wider cultural complex, examining the conflicting narratives and theories concerning their origins, the various forms of evidence which have shaped our understanding, how new scientific techniques are shedding new light on the question of the emergence of these cultures.
- "Finding Mercia" - An exploration of the early medieval kingdom of central England; where it sits in wider British history, its mysterious origins, and how both long-forgotten, and new emerging archaeology are helping to reshape our understanding of the emergence of this ambitious, Anglo-British kingdom of the Midlands.
- "Secret Meanings in Early Anglo-Saxon Art" - with specific reference to the Staffordshire Hoard and related finds, this talk examines the origins of Anglo-Saxon artwork, the hidden visual language which runs through it, and what it can tell us about the early Anglo-Saxons and their world.
- Anglo-Saxon Metalworking - Illustrated with our collection of archaeological reproductions - a workshop session exploring the sophisticated techniques and science involved in the production of early medieval ironwork, including exquisitely forged pattwelded blades, and the many varied and complex techniques used to create spectacular jewellery. Including live demonstration of some Anglo-Saxon jewellery techniques.
- Anglo-Saxon Dress - Illustrated by our costume reproductions, a session examining the fabulous costumes worn by our early medieval predecessors - from amazing jewellery advertising complex layers of identity as well as huge technical skill, to the finely woven and vibrantly dyed fabrics worn in the period, the techniques and resources they used, and the fascinating archaeological evidence and meticulous scientific analysis on which these insights are based.
- Reconstructing the Staffordshire Hoard - Illustrated with our collection of Hoard reconstructions. How the spectacular discovery of the biggest hoard of Anglo-Saxon treasure ever found, in 2009, has re-shaped our understanding of the period and its cultures, and what we have learned by re-building items from the Hoard.
- Wealseax / Seax - the slaughter-knife of the Anglo-Saxons - illustrated with our collection of reconstructions - a session exploring the unique, enigmatic, and often fearsome-looking blades recovered from early Anglo-Saxon warrior burials, and later, from rivers across England; their complex smith craft, artistry, their various types and forms, and what they can tell us about the evolution of Anglo-Saxon warrior societies.
